LOWVILLE A few Lewis County roads were closed Friday because of flooding from melting snow and rain earlier in the week.
East Martinsburg Road in the town of Lowville, Burdicks Crossing Road in the town of Turin and River Road in the town of Lyonsdale are expected to be shut down for the next couple of days, according to James M. Martin, the countys emergency services director.
I wouldnt be surprised that theyre closed all weekend, Mr. Martin said.
Water levels continued to rise through much of the day Friday, he said.
Its quite a bit higher than it was this morning, Mr. Martin said late Friday afternoon.
Murrock Road in the town of Pinckney also was closed Friday, but that was caused by a culvert replacement project, not the weather, he said.
