Charlton catapults Clarkson past St. Lawrence

CANTON — Marques Charlton scored 18 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Clarkson University men’s basketball team to a 69-64 victory over rival St. Lawrence University in a Liberty League game Tuesday night.

Jerry and John Coleman each scored 14 points for the Golden Knights (13-5 overall, 5-4 conference). Felix Abongo tossed in 12 points for Clarkson.

Brady Condlin led SLU (7-11, 5-4) with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Kyle Miller scored 13 points and Al Jones tallied 12 for the Saints.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

ST. LAWRENCE 69, CLARKSON 47

Kara McDuffee scored 21 points, snagged 10 rebounds and had six assists as the Saints (14-4, 8-1) defeated Clarkson in a Liberty League game in Canton.

Lauren Quattrocchi scored 15 points, and Cassie St. Hilaire added 10 points and seven rebounds for SLU.

Leighann Tomnita led Clarkson (2-15, 0-9) with 15 points and nine rebounds.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY

HAMILTON 4, SUNY POTSDAM 2

Katie Zimmerman, Nikki Haskins and Hannah Bartlett each provided one goal and one assist to lead the Continentals (10-6-1) in a nonconference game at Cheel Arena.

Megan Fitzgerald also scored for Hamilton.

Amanda Lucky and Izzy Fayerman both scored for the Bears (7-11-2).
