POTSDAM The village Board of Trustees approved spending more than $92,000 in grant money to begin design work on improvements to Ives Park and Stone Valley.
The village contracted with Chazen Companies Inc., Glens Falls, to design the renovations, which include a playground, walkway and kayak launch.
Walking paths in Ives Park will be part of a larger Raquette Riverwalk, a pedestrian walkway that will link Grand Island, Ives Park and Clarkson University.
The project is part of the villages $2.6 million Downtown and Waterfront Revitalization Plan, which aims to make downtown more appealing to residents and visitors.
