CHAZY - Two third period goals lifted Canton Girls Hockey team to a 5-4 win over Chazy/Beekmantown in non-division girls hockey action on Tuesday.
Taylor Marcellus, a Madrid-Waddington student, scored the game winning goal from Sam Mace with 9:04 left of the third period for the 5-4-4 Bears.
Marcellus assisted on the tieing goal from Margret Trioano, a Morristown Central School athlete, with 9:40 left of the third.
Emily Ravelle scored from for Chazy-Beekmantown from Amanda Peterson with 9:00 left but Blake Orosz, another M-W product, answered for Canton with 5:30, unassisted. Ravelle made it 2-1 Chazy-Beekmantown before the period ended with 1:14 to play.
Orosz tied the game at 2-2 from Trioano and Marcellus before Ravelle scored her third from Peterson and Peterson connected from Ravelle and Carla Jereaux.
Burke made 39 saves for the Bears in net.
