The Molson Maples, Ogdensburg’s Old-Timers Hockey Team, sponsored by AJ Missert and The Place,kicked off the 2013 portion of their current campaign on Jan. 3 with a much needed victory over the Chesterville Boulders by a 13-8 score.

The Maples finished the 2012 portion of their season with a disappointing record of 5-10-0 and the team last played on Jan. 17 and defeated the Cardinal Chug-A-Lugs 6-3.

The win reversed a 7-3 loss to the Chug-A-Lugs on Dec. 20. Sandwiched between these two wins,the team lost two games and also skated to a tie to post a record of 2-2-1 thus far in 2013.

Overall the team has shown some improvement in their play during the new year and currently sports an overall record of 7-12-1.

With a little more than half the season completed,the team looks to build on some of their recent success and finish the season on a strong note.

The team is also in the planning stages to offer a Rock Skate to area youths on Feb. 16 at the Richard C. Lockwood Civic Center. Details will published as soon as they become available.
