Russell W. Chevrier Jr., 25, of 131 Cemetery Road, was arrested Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. for third-degree assault. Ogdensburg police said the charge stemmed from a Jan. 1 fight in the 500 block of New York Avenue. The victim was identified as Christian R. Lalonde, 29, of 709 Rensselaer Ave.

Mr. Chevrier was arraigned in city court, released to the supervision of probation and told to abide by a no-contact order of protection for Mr. Lalonde.

Courtney M. Barber, 20, of 815 Main St., was arrested Tuesday at 3:11 a.m. on a city court bench warrant failure to appear, city police reported.
