Donald K. Dean, 37, of 331 Coffeen St., was taken into custody by Watertown police Monday evening after he allegedly was found possessing a small quantity of heroin during a traffic stop in the 400 block of Arsenal Street.

He is charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and having defective brake lights. Police said the heroin was found in his pocket while he was being charged with the unlicensed-operation count.
