CHAZY - Two third period goals lifted the Canton Centrla girls hockey team to a 5-4 win over Beekmantown in non-division girls hockey action on Tuesday.
Taylor Marcellus, a Madrid-Waddington student, scored the game winning goal from Sam Mace with 9:04 left of the third period for the 5-4-4 Bears. Marcellus also assisted on the tying goal from Margret Trioano, a Morristown Central School student-athlete, with 9:40 left of the third.
Emily Ravelle scored for-Beekmantown from Amanda Peterson with 9:00 left but Blake Orosz, another M-W product, answered for Canton with 5:30 remaining, unassisted. Ravelle made it 2-1 Beekmantown with 1:14 to go in the period.
Orosz tied the game at 2-2 from Trioano and Marcellus before Ravelle scored her third from Peterson and Peterson connected from Ravelle and Carla Jereaux.
Elizabeth Burke made 39 saves in the win.
