The St. Lawrence University women's basketball team has a trio of former South Jefferson girls basketball players on its roster, led by junior captain Cassie St. Hilaire.
St. Hilaire, a junior guard, is joined on the SLU roster by former Spartan teammates Maddy Wetterhahn (a sophomore who is currently injured) and freshman Amanda Roberts.
The South Jefferson girls team has been successful at the state level in recent years and so has SLU's women's basketball team, which entered this week with a 12-3 overall record and a perfect 6-0 record in Liberty League play.
The Saints have 11 straight wins and are aiming for a second straight undefeated conference season, finishing 16-0 last year.
St. Hilaire has started all 15 games for SLU and averages 7.6 points and 4.1 rebounds for the Saints.
