POTSDAM — A missed free throw with one second remaining helped the Massena boys basketball team hold on for a 44-43 win over Potsdam in an Northern Athletic Conference Central Division game on Friday night.

Zach Rusaw scored 19 points to lead the Red Raiders (8-5 overall, 5-2 division). Joey LaBelle added 14 Massena.

Owen Mitchell paced Potsdam (7-4, 3-4) with 27 points.

GOUVERNEUR 57, CANTON 56

Seth Carr made a 12-foot shot at the buzzer to give the Wildcats (4-8, 3-5) a win over Canton in a Central Division contest in Gouverneur.

Mark Horne led Gouverneur with 16 points and Anthony Way scored 13.

Bryant Wentworth scored 19 to lead Canton (4-8, 3-6) and Evan LaPoint produced 18.

MALONE 85, SALMON RIVER 27

Austin LaMay’s 13 points helped the Huskies (13-1, 8-1) cruise past Salmon River in a Central Division game in Malone.

Harvey Smith, Alex Johnson and Bruce Monette each scored 10 for Malone. Josh Hynes led Salmon River (1-11, 0-9) with 15 points.

TUPPER LAKE 49, MADRID-WADDINGTON 42

Tupper Lake outscored the Yellow Jackets (7-5, 3-3) 18-9 in the fourth quarter to pull out a North Division win in Madrid.

Anson Gagnier, Brock Tarbox and Mitch Keniston each scored nine points for Tupper Lake (8-4, 4-1). Richard Wright led the Yellow Jackets with 16 points and Maurice Rease added 13.

CHATEAUGAY 60, BRUSHTON-MOIRA 49

The Bulldogs were clinging to a 39-38 lead after three quarters but went on a 21-11 spurt in the fourth to beat Brushton-Moira (6-6) in an interdivision game in Chateaugay.

Noah Bowes scored 24 points for Chateaugay (9-3, 8-1). Adam Martin scored 16 points.

HEUVELTON 58, EDWARDS-KNOX 54

Dedrick Johnson and Cody Holland each scored 18 points as the Bulldogs (9-4, 7-3) handed Edwards-Knox its first loss of the season in a West Division game in Heuvelton. Mike Guardino scored 16 for Heuvelton.

Kaden Dandrow led the Cougars (11-1, 9-1) with 20 points. Nick Davison and Tyler Tresidder both scored 10 for the Cougars.

HARRISVILLE 60, MORRISTOWN 56

Nate Weaver scored 20 as Harrisville (10-3, 7-2) edged the Green Rockets in a West Division game in Morristown.

Nick Weir scored 16 points for the Pirates. Ryan Vollmer led Morristown (4-8, 3-7) with 17 points and Ryan Dulmage had 15.

HERMON-DEKALB 54, CLIFTON-FINE 42

Macaulay Snell scored 19 points and Zach Robinson added 14 points and 13 rebounds to send the Demons (3-10, 3-7) past Clifton-Fine in a West Division game at DeKalb Junction.

Steve Gilbert scored 11 points for Hermon-Dekalb. Matt Russell led the Eagles (1-12, 0-9) with 14.

OFA 87, NORWOOD-NORFOLK 32

The Blue Devils (11-1) led 36-4 after one quarter and toppled Norwood-Norfolk in a nonleague contest in Ogdensburg.

Breton LaRose scored 25 points for OFA and Colin Ross added 15. Cody Rust led the Flyers (1-13) with 17 points.

HAMMOND 35, COLTON-PIERREPONT 21

Darin Bresett scored 18 points to send the Red Devils (5-7) past Colton-Pierrepont in a nonleague game in Hammond. Gyle Dominy led the Colts (5-7) with nine points.

CANTON 41, ST. LAWRENCE 34

Tori Daley scored 14 points to help Canton (11-1) beat the Larries in a nonleague game in Brasher Falls.

Sam Richards scored 12 points and grabbed 16 boards for SLC (8-6) and Breanna Vatter had 10 points.

OFA 62, NORWOOd-NORFOLK 28

Meg Dodge tallied 26 points as the Blue Devils (9-4) defeated Norwood-Norfolk in a nonleague game in Ogdensburg.

Cadence Hunkins scored 12 points for the Flyers (2-10).

HOCKEY

POTSDAM 4, FAYETTEVILLE-MANLIUS 1

Logan Ford scored two goals to led the Sandstoners (8-4) past Fayetteville-Manlius in a nonleague game in Potsdam.

Robbie Scott and Trevor Keleher also scored for Potsdam.

OFA 3, SARANAC LAKE 2 (OT)

Brandon Mullin scored an overtime goal to lead the Blue Devils (9-4) past Saranac Lake in the Brian Wade Jr. Tournament in Ogdensburg.

Mullin scored OFA’s first goal in the second period and Gian Rufa also scored for the Blue Devils.

MCQUAID 6, ISLANDERS 0

Jarred Tallo scored two goals to lead Rochester’s McQuaid past the Islanders (4-7-2) in the other Wade Jr. Tournament game. Zach Pearson made 22 saves for McQuaid.

WRESTLING

MASSENA 79, MALONE 6

The Red Raiders (11-3, 6-2) used six wins by pin to defeat Malone in a Northern Athletic Conference match in Massena.

Landon Laughlin (132 pounds), Isaiah Perry (138), Nolan Terrance (285), Michael Brown (106), Skyler Cameron (112) and Konnor German (120) won by pin for Massena. Austin Learned (126) won by pin for the Huskies (3-12, 1-7).

INDOOR TRACK & FIELD

CANTON GIRLS, MALONE BOYS WIN

Canton’s girls won all three relays and finished with 136 1/2 points to win the Northern Athletic Conference meet at SLU. Malone was second with 95 points.

The Malone boys finished first with 142 points. Indian River was second with 95 and OFA was third with 91.

Canton had four individual girls winners: Lindsay Proulx (55-meter hurdles), Gemma DelRossi (600), Rebecca DelRossi (1,000) and Laura Pierce (3,000).

South Jefferson’s Skylar Pastor was a three-event winner in the girls meet, claiming the 300 as well as the long jump and high jump.

Morgan Marlow (1,600 and 1,000) and Corey Lamere (600 and 3,200) each won twice for the Malone boys, who also took the 3,200 relay.

Indian River’s Darrius Bryant won the 55 as well as the long jump and high jump.
