GOUVERNEUR — State police on Wednesday arrested a Gouverneur man for allegedly committing a sex act with a child nearly three years ago.

Joshua R. Bristol, 23, was charged with first-degree commission of criminal sexual act with a child under the age of 11, a class B felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.

Troopers did not disclose information about the victim or the incident, other than to say it took place in summer 2010.

He was arraigned in Fowler Town Court and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 bond.
