POTSDAM Allison Cady scored 16 points to help lead the St. Lawrence University womens basketball team to a 74-40 rout of Clarkson in a Liberty League game Tuesday night.
The Saints (10-3 overall, 4-0 conference) outscored Clarkson 40-18 in the second half to build on a 12-point halftime lead. Clarkson shot just 24.1 percent.
Amanda Roberts added 13 points and nine rebounds for the Saints. Ashley Loggins led Clarkson (2-11, 0-5) with 20 points and eight rebounds.
HAMILTON 62, SUNY POTSDAM 54
Madie Harlem tallied 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds as Hamilton (7-8) defeated Potsdam in a nonconference game in Potsdam.
Eliza Howe scored 14 points for the Continentals. Dani Feigin scored 13 and Samantha Graber tallied 12 for Hamilton.
Bailey Weigel and Jessica Kouzan each scored 15 for SUNY Potsdam (1-12).
JEFFERSON CC 60, CAYUGA CC 45
Morgan Kiernan and Jasmine Canady each scored 22 points to spark the Cannoneers to a Mid-State Athletic Conference triumph in Adams.
Kiernan also hauled in 15 rebounds, made seven steals and finished 12-for-14 from the foul line for JCC (7-10, 3-1), which led 33-20 at halftime and pulled away in the second half.
Latina Smith scored 15 points to lead the Spartans (2-14, 0-3). Shanna Shaff contributed 12 points for Cayuga and China Agnew had 10 points.
ALFRED 63, SUNY CANTON 53
Harley Cleary led Alfred (5-10) with 18 points in a win over SUNY Canton in a nonconference game in Alfred.
Rachael Stedman and Sarah Federico each tallied 10 points for Alfred.
Kaitlin Myers led the Kangaroos (8-7) with 12 points. Joelle Percy scored 11 and Alicia Uhlein added 10 for SUNY Canton. Karyss Terrance grabbed 12 rebounds and Brianna Sayer pulled down 10 for the Kangaroos.
ST. LAWRENCE 67, CLARKSON 65
A layup by Brady Condlin with 3 minutes, 38 seconds remaining gave St. Lawrence University a 62-60 lead and the Saints never trailed again in a Liberty League win over Clarkson (10-4, 2-3) in Potsdam.
Clarkson saw its chance to win denied when Marques Charlton missed a 3-point basket at the buzzer.
Condlin finished with 20 points to lead the Saints (5-8, 3-1). Janpeter Brase scored 17 points and Payton Stahler added 12 for SLU.
John Coleman led the Golden Knights with 16 points. Marquest Charlton scored 13 and Felix Abongo tossed in 12 for Clarkson.
SUNY POTSDAM 79, UTICA 66
Mark Lake Jr. scored 18 points and snagged eight rebounds to lead the Bears (5-8) in a nonconference game in Potsdam.
Curtis Pierce scored 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for SUNY Potsdam, and Colin Peterson added 14 points.
Aaron Nevins led Utica (5-11) with 14 points. Matt Baldwin scored 13 points and Connor Maisch added 12 for the Bears with Chris Jeffers tossing in 11.
ALFRED 89, SUNY CANTON 70
Sean Curran scored 21 points, with 15 coming on 3-point baskets, to lead host SUNY Alfred (4-11) past the Kangaroos in a nonconference game.
Thomas Tsatsis scored 17 points and Steve Lothridge added 12 for the Saxons.
Khalid Vaughn led the Kangaroos (5-10) with 23 points. Michael Pulci scored 12 points and Xzavier Fisher added 11 for the Kangaroos.
CAYUGA CC 64, JEFFERSON CC 55
Shaquille Holley scored a game-high 15 points to lead a balanced effort as the Spartans won a Mid-State Athletic Conference game in Auburn.
Jared Donalson contributed 10 points for Cayuga (4-12, 2-1).
Derrick Williams scored 14 points to pace the Cannoneers (5-12, 0-4). Kenneth Thomas added 13 points and Andrew McNitt 10. Justin Sullivan hauled in 10 rebounds for JCC.
