The Ogdensburg City Council enthusiastically gave its support to Andrea L. Smith, who at the beginning of the year was promoted to permanent director of planning and development.
Monday night the council voted Ms. Smith a $11,187 raise to bring her pay in line with the citys pay standards for department heads.
I would like to congratulate Andrea, said Mayor William D. Nelson. Youve brought a lot of ideas forward and youve been very aggressive.
Last year, while Ms. Smith served as interim planner, the council voted to raise her salary to $44,250 from a $36,250 base. The additional pay will come from the citys Community Development fund, which recently received a $401,000 windfall from the auction of the former Community Resource Center property at 100 Ford Street.
