NORFOLK – Marvin L. Ward, 36, of 1425 Route 420, was charged with assault, harassment and acting in a manner injurious to a child by state police at 5:45 p.m. Monday.

Mr. Ward allegedly struck his 10-year-old daughter in the face twice when she repeatedly asked him the same question.

He was taken to the St. Lawrence County Jail, Canton, on $5,000 cash bail.
