Unemployment rates in November dropped by 0.1 of a percentage point in Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties and rose by 0.2 of a percentage point in Lewis County compared with November 2011.

The state Department of Labor reported Thursday that unemployment in Jefferson and St. Lawrence counties was 9.4 percent, down from 9.5 percent the previous November. Rates in October were 9.4 percent in Jefferson County and 9.7 percent in St. Lawrence County.

Lewis County unemployment was 9.0 percent in November, up from 8.8 percent the previous year and from 8.6 percent in October.
