St. Lawrence County will participate in a national commemoration Friday for Sandy Hook Elementary School victims in keeping with a request from Connecticut Gov. Daniel P. Malloy to governments and houses of worship.

St. Lawrence County government offices will have a moment of silence at 9:30 a.m.

The county will place the flag at half staff and is encouraging local churches to observe the request of Gov. Malloy to ring their bells 26 times during that moment in honor of each life that was taken.
