Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo will announce the state’s decision for the second round of funding for the Regional Economic Development Councils at 10 a.m. today.

Area leaders are hoping for a repeat of last year’s successes. The North Country Economic Development Council received over $100 million in state funding last year, the second-highest among the state’s ten regions. This gives the council priority for increased funding this year.

The council plans to continue last year’s strategy of promoting business growth through biotechnology, broadband access and high-speed rail, as well as increasing tourism.

The Governor’s announcement will be live streamed online at the Governor’s website at www.governor.ny.gov.
