CANTON — A village resident faces drug charges after heroin and hypodermic needles were found in his vehicle following a traffic stop on Tuesday, Canton police said.

Zachary C. Racine 26, of 64 Law Lane, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, a Class A misdemeanor.

Mr. Racine was arraigned in Canton Town Court and sent to St. Lawrence County jail on $2,000 bail or $4,000 bond.

Also arrested was Patrick A. Frender 23, of 38 Law Lane, who was charged with criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument, a Class A misdemeanor.
