LOWVILLE — The case against South Lewis Central School District teacher Arthur J. McCall was adjourned in contemplation of dismissal Tuesday, despite the objection of one of the alleged victims.

Mr. McCall, 45, of 5326 Dayan St., who has taught music in the district for 22 years, was suspended with pay after he was charged with two counts of forcible touching. The alleged victims, Jarrod A. Hurley, 26, and Douglas M. Tuttle, 17, accused Mr. McCall in late August of one count each of forcible touching.

Mr. Hurley recently contacted Johnson Newspapers indicating the inappropriate and unwanted contact did occur, but he planned to ask the Lewis County District Attorney’s Office to drop the charges.

Mr. Tuttle, however, objected to the adjournment in contemplation of dismissal and refused to sign court documents agreeing to the decision.
