BEAVER FALLS - The trio of senior Andrew Cole, eighth grader Tanner LaPiene and seventh grader Brody Sheppard all went undefeated leading the efforts of the OFA Wrestling team at the General Brown Duals on Saturday.
Cole went 4-0 wrestling at 182 and 195 pounds while LaPiene and Sheppard both went 5-0 interchanging at 99 and 106 pounds leading the Devils to a 2-3 record against a strong contingent of Central New York Schools at the event.
Sheppard was honored as OFAs Most Outstanding Wrestler.
General Brown went 5-0, Baldwinsville went 4-1, Fulton and Homer both went 3-2 with OFA and Watertown IHC tying for fifth place at 2-3. Beaver River went 1-4 and APW/Pulaski went 0-5.
Nate Sarkin (285) and Josh Wangler (132) both went 3-2 on the day for OFA with Alex Cole (170) going 2-2 and Baily Phelps (145) and Justin Pratt (195) both going 2-3. Adam Rickett (126) and Austin Lalonde (120) both registered one win on the day.
Also seeing action for OFA were Glynn Breen (138), Tyler Easton (152), Allen Smithers (160), Hayden LaRock (113 and Cody Allen David (160).
The Blue Devils, who stand at 1-0 in the NAC, will make their home opener against Malone on Thursday.
