Mark S. Remington, 25, of 613 Franklin St., Apt. 1, was arrested late Wednesday by Watertown police on a charge of third-degree assault after he allegedly punched a woman in the face.
Police said Laurena E. Chapin, 21, same address, had a swollen jaw as a result of the incident, which occurred Tuesday night at their apartment.
Mr. Remington was discharged from the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building on Sept. 4 after serving a sentence given him in Jefferson Count Court for attempted third-degree robbery, attempted third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and second-degree unlawful imprisonment. He is also serving five years probation for those convictions.
Ms. Chapin was charged with second-degree menacing in April for poking Mr. Remington on the shoulder at least four times with a knife. Her charge was reduced to harassment, and she paid $200 in a fine and court fees, according to City Court.
