■ The annual used book sale sponsored by the Friends of Roswell P. Flower Memorial Library raised more than $11,000 this year. All proceeds are used to fund the fiction collection and other library programs throughout the year.
■ The Jefferson County Historical Society will host a free holiday open house at 4 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Paddock mansion, 228 Washington St. Entertainment will include the Celebration Singers and WWNY-TV 7 News anchorman Brian Ashleys narration of Twas the Night Before Christmas.
■ DEER RIVER Vehicles left parked on town of Denmark roads overnight between Dec. 1 and March 23 will be towed at the owners expense. The town Highway Department also asks residents not to leave excessive amounts of snow on the roads when plowing their driveways.
■ Jefferson Community College will hold a nursing degree program information session for prospective students at 4 p.m. Dec. 11 in Building 6, room 6-218. It will include an overview of the program, prerequisite coursework, admission requirements, the application process and financial aid.
