HAMMOND - The Hammond Central School student body began their Thanksgiving festivities and got into the spirit of sharing early last Tuesday with a Turkey Shootout.

Current Red Devil basketball players and future marksmen-ladies also got a chance to show how they valued good foul shooting in the contest where the top girl and boy shooters in each class won a turkey.

Some of the shooters donated their turkeys back to aid other families.

“It is very exciting for all the kids and they had a blast doing it. Hammond Central had 45 turkeys donated from the community and surrounding area,” said Hammond Athletic Director Shawn Dack.

“The funds donated will all go towards the kids in whatever they may need”.
