Donald K. Roberts, 51, of 715 State St., was arrested early Saturday after Watertown police say he bit a woman on her lower lip and face, and choked her.

He was detained to await City Court arraignment on charges of criminal obstruction of breathing or blood circulation, a misdemeanor, and harassment.

Police said the incident occurred between 2:10 and 2:30 a.m. at the apartment of the victim, Patricia A. Chapman, 51, of 323 Stone St.

The incident is the second in five months in which Mr. Roberts has been charged with the choking count. An arrest in the city June 8 involved a different woman.
