Snakes alive.

And a wallaby.

And a 75-pound tortoise.

And a tarantula.

Throw in a bunch of insects and you have the “Reptiles Forever” show at Ogdensburg Public Library on Dec. 8 at 1 p.m. The show, presented by Mary Benvenuto of Cape Vincent, will be held in the library’s upstairs auditorium and is free of charge.

The species of snakes on display at the show will include a python and a boa constrictor. Several of the snakes and some of the reptiles will be able to be held.

The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ogdensburg Public Library.

Meanwhile, on Saturday at noon at the library, there will be a workshop for participants in the ongoing futuristic teen art contest. Materials will be provided including canvasses, paints, paper, charcoals, colored pencils and pastels. A camcorder will also be available.

Participants in the contest will be asked to submit works that depict Ogdensburg in 2027. They can do it through any medium including drawings, paintings and film.

The age range for eligible contestants is ages 13 to 19.

The deadline for submitting the artwork to the library by Dec. 1.

The library is located at 312 Washington St.

For more information, call the library at 393-4325.
