The New York State Zoo at Thompson Park will hold its Winter Wonderland Weekends for the second year in a row starting Friday.

The event, which will run on weekends through Dec. 30, features a variety of holiday lights and decorations around the zoo. The lights have been donated and placed by businesses and nonprofits.

During the event period, the zoo will be open from 5:30 until 9 p.m. Several activities will be held during the weekends for all ages, and hot chocolate, coffee and other refreshments will be served.

The cost of the event is $3 for adults and $2 for children aged 3 through 12. Children under 3 years old are admitted for free.
