GOUVERNEUR — A 25-year-old Gouverneur man is facing rape charges in connection with a 2011 incident involving a teen, state police said Tuesday.

Harold R. Clement, address not available, was charged Monday with one count of third-degree rape and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

He is accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old in summer 2011 at an unspecified outdoor location the town of Gouverneur, troopers said. The incident was reported Oct. 31, police said.

He was jailed in lieu of $1,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Gouverneur Town Court.
