When Watertown police attempted Sunday afternoon to assist a possibly assaulted woman in an apartment at 234 Coffeen St., a man tried to prevent entry by officers, according to police.

Bryan S. Allen, 24, blocked the doorway, refused to move, and threatened officers with a clenched fist, police said. He was arrested on charges of obstructing governmental administration and disorderly conduct.

As it turned out, the unidentified woman in the apartment was not injured, police said.
