Andrew Miller scored two goals as Yale defeated St. Lawrence, 4-2 in an ECAC Hockey encounter on Saturday night at Ingalls Rink.
In the process, the Bulldogs halted the Saints unbeaten streak at five games.
After Miller scored 11:28 into the second period to provide Yale (3-2-1, 2-2-0) with a 2-0 lead, Kyle Essery tallied a shorthanded goal 52 seconds later to pull St. Lawrence to within 2-1.
But Trent Ruffolo and Miller each scored within a span of three minutes, including Millers power-play goal at 13:19, in the third period as the Bulldogs built a 4-1 advantage. Tommy Thompson scored at 12:47 for St. Lawrence.
Goalie Jeff Malcolm stopped 32 of 34 shots faced for Yale.
Matt Weninger finished with 28 saves for St. Lawrence (5-2-1, 0-1-1), which suffered its first defeat in six games after going on a 4-0-1 run, including a 3-3 tie at Brown on Friday.
The Saints will continue ECAC Hockey play as they will host Princeton next Friday and Quinnipiac next Saturday, with both games starting at 7 p.m.
