FA boys soccer team falls to Fowler in state Class A opener

LIVERPOOL — Syracuse Fowler rallied from a halftime deficit to defeat the Franklin Academy boys soccer team 5-2 in a first round game of the state Class A playoffs Wednesday night at Liverpool High School.

FA (13-4-1) held a 2-1 lead at halftime off goals from Aaron Badgley and Aaron Sharlow.

But Fowler (18-1) tied the game in the 54th minute when Abdulkareem Abdulkareem scored his second goal of the game. Jean-Paul Mboyo gave Fowler the lead for good with a goal in the 55th minute.

Vincent Ndabaruta and Ghanem Ghanem also scored for Fowler.
