The Watertown Daily Times endorsed the incumbents in this year's only contested Assembly races in the north country.

The editorial board — of which I'm not part — recommended the re-election of Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, R-Peru, and Assemblyman Marc Butler, R-Newport.

Mrs. Duprey faces Karen Bisso on the Conservative Party line and Tim Carpenter on the Democratic Party line.

Mr. Butler faces Joe Chilelli on the Democratic line.

Both districts stretch into St. Lawrence County, which was brutally gerrymandered this year.
