Mayor Jeff Graham is playing a bit coy about "one man" who gave to both congressional candidates.

That man is Mr. Graham's boss, Jim Leven. Mr. Leven owns Community Broadcasters, where Mr. Graham has a noontime talk show on WATN-1240.

When I called Mr. Leven a few months ago about the fact that he had donated to both Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh, and Republican Matt Doheny, he politely declined comment.

Mr. Leven has hosted a fundraiser for Mr. Owens, and attended a fundraiser for Mr. Doheny.

One could be cynical and say that Mr. Leven is betting on black and red in the political game of roulette. Or one could just say that he's a generous guy who likes to be involved in the political process.
