House Speaker John Boehner will travel to Lake George for a fundraiser with Matt Doheny on Aug. 3, spokesman Jude Seymour said in an email to supporters this morning.
"The Speaker's trip up to NY-21 speaks volumes about the importance of this campaign and it shows how critical our race is in building a strong majority in the House," Mr. Seymour said in the email, which was forwarded by a Republican source.
The fundraiser will be held at The Inn at Erlowest, 3178 Lake Shore Drive. Tickets are $150 per person, $250 per couple.
Mr. Boehner is a Republican of Ohio. It's the first in what will surely be a series of gold-plated names to appear in the north country for the Nov. 6 race between Mr. Doheny and Rep. Bill Owens, D-Plattsburgh,
The Doheny campaign says that there will be no "media component" at the Lake George fundraiser, essentially meaning that reporters are not invited.
