A group founded by former Minnesota Sen. Norm Coleman is going after Rep. Bill Owens and two other New York Democrats in a web ad about ObamaCare.
According to Maggie Haberman at Politico, American Action Network is a "key outside force on the right" and recently announced a $10 million blitz in states including New York.
New York is one of the so-called "orphan states" that doesn't have a strong party organization. American Action Network launched a "legislation-focused ground game" here.
The specific issue on which the group is going after Mr. Owens — and Reps. Tim Bishop and Louise Slaughter — is the health-care law. It might be legislation-focused, but the commercial uses the Three Stooges as an illustration of what American Action Network considers a bad vote and a tax hike.
Mr. Owens has said that he's willing to work to improve the health-care law, but says it will be good for New Yorkers who don't have insurance and those that do, so he's voted against repeal.
