Carl Paladino, a Buffalo real estate developer, has endorsed Karen Bisso's primary challenge against sitting Assemblywoman Janet Duprey, R-Peru.
Ms. Bisso is a Clinton County resident and tea party activist who is seeking the Conservative and Republican party lines for the Nov. 6 election. Ms. Duprey, who voted in favor of gay marriage, is anathema to the state's Conservative Party, but overcame challenges from a Democrat and Conservative challenger in 2010.
She will have to at least fend off a Conservative challenger in the Nov. 6 election, and may face a Republican primary, too.
"As a small businesswoman, she understands the costs and burdens that Albany's endless regulations have imposed on small businesses," Mr. Paladino said in a news release.
David Kimmel is also vying for the Conservative Party nomination in the district that now stretches into the four easternmost St. Lawrence County towns.
