Former Immaculate Heart Central athlete Ben Winkler was selected to the Empire 8 All-Conference second team this week after a record-setting season with Utica College.
Winkler, a junior from Rodman, is just the fifth player in program history to make the conference’s first or second team.
Winkler finished the regular season ranked sixth in the country among Division III programs with 3.31 goals per game and 25th in the country with 4.19 assists per game. He earlier set school single-season marks for goals (53) and points (67) in a season.
Winkler is the seventh player in school history to join the 100-point club and is ranked seventh all-time with 106 career points (83 goals, 23 assists). He is third all-time in goals scored behind two other former Frontier League athletes, Matt Donaldson and Michael Bulger.
