Good governance be danged, the Senate GOP majority came through with extra educational funds for schools.
Here's the catch: Only schools that are in districts represented by the Senate GOP majority got money.
But hey, you might argue. Money is money. Even if it is tainted by partisan politics.
According to the bill posted on the Albany Times-Union's blog, the following north country schools represented by Republican state Sens. Patty Ritchie and Joe Griffo will get extra money:
Alexandria Central School District: $15,000.
Beaver River Central School District: $150,000.
Belleville-Henderson Central School District: $10,000.
Brasher Falls Central School District: $50,000.
Canton Central School District: $30,000.
Carthage Central School District: $15,000.
Edwards-Knox Central School District: $15,000.
General Brown Central School District: $15,000.
Gouverneur Central School District: $15,000.
Hammond Central School District: $15,000.
Harrisville Central School District: $50,000.
Hermon-DeKalb Central School District: $15,000.
Heuvelton Central School District: $15,000.
LaFargeville Central School District: $15,000.
Lisbon Central School District: $15,000.
Lyme Central School District: $15,000.

The Assembly had similar "bullet aid," too, according to Assemblywoman Addie Russell. And some schools were lucky enough to be represented by a majority member in both houses. Here's a list of education bullet aid that Mrs. Russell acquired through majority prerogative.
Happy election season!
