North country companies will get a discount on their power — which will help create and retain jobs, officials say — from Recharge New York grants.

The bill, long sought during the Paterson administration and championed by then-Sen. Darrel Aubertine of Cape Vincent, was passed in 2011, the dawn of the Cuomo years.
