Assemblyman Ken Blankenbush is the only current north country legislator who woke up with an appreciably different map than he had when LATFOR first drew its lines.
In the revised map, released late last night, Mr. Blankenbush gets more of St. Lawrence County than he was given in the original proposal. It's seven towns now, instead of just one. He currently represents about two-thirds of the big county.
He also picked up a few more towns in Jefferson County that he had originally lost, and is totally out of Oswego County. He remains in a few towns in Oneida County.
A picture of his proposed district is attached below. I hereby open a caption contest, and as a first entry, we'll go with: a Michael Jackson album cover.
I'll add this caveat again: It ain't over 'til it's over, and these maps could see more tweaks before all is said and done.
And a note to other legislators: Please send me your maps.
