ROCHESTER – Freshman runner Amanda White of Rochester Institute of Technology was named the Liberty League track and field rookie of the week on Monday, for the week ending Sunday.
The former Watertown High School standout contributed to three winning events for RIT at the Liberty League Championships on Saturday, helping the RIT women’s team to a second-place finish. She captured the 800-meter run and ran on RIT’s first-place distance medley and 1,600 relays.
While at Watertown, White was a key member of the Cyclones’ cross country, volleyball and track and field teams.
RIT hosts the Tiger Invitational at 4 p.m. on Friday.
