Don Coon, the chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Committee, has endorsed Mitt Romney for president.
Mr. Coon will serve on Mr. Romney's New York steering committee. It's not yet clear whether New York's primary will actually matter, or whether Mr. Romney will have already wrapped up the nomination by April 24.
If there is still a spirited campaign going on, candidates may campaign in New York, which will allocate its delegates proportionally. That means that it's better to win the state by 100 percent than it is to win the state by 51 percent under the old winner-take-all system.
We'll see if any of the candidates make it north of the Thruway.
