The campaign treasurer for Rep. Bill Owens has written the Federal Election Commission to explain previous error-riddled reports.

Basically, due to bookkeeping errors, some contributions were dated incorrectly, some had the incorrect contribution amounts, some were duplicate and some weren't filed at all.

"During a review of its reports, the Committee discovered some mistakes in the filings prepared by its previous vendor and subsequently undertook a complete review of its 2009 and 2010 reports," Theodore Kowalczyk writes.

The committee filed an "omnibus" set of amendments in July to previous disclosure forms that clears up any confusion.
