Third period notes:

Empty net with 2:27 to play.

Nine minutes to play and the Saints need two goals and aren't controlling the puck long enough to even get it out of their own zone.

Goal Dartmouth

Saints give the puck away one too many times in the neutral zone and Tyler Sikura comes away with a breakaway goal.

Saints doing a lot of chasing the puck with 14 mintues to play.

Weninger keeping St. Lawrence in it right now. They look a little out of sync right now.

Dartmouth has come out with all the confidence. Saints look a little off-guard. Playing really defensively.

Weninger with two great saves right away.

Saints kill the penalty. That one is huge.

Second period impressions:

The Saints kind of fell apart again at the end of that period and looked a little sloppy, especially in taking a penalty. However, they did score. Weninger could do nothing on the goal he allowed in the period. It was a beautiful pass in traffic that turned into an easy goal.

The Saints have 30 seconds left on the penalty kill. This will be a big 30 seconds for SLU. A kill could easily re-energize them for the last push. If the Saints play 20 solid minutes, this game could go either way.

Second period notes:

Slashing call on SLU's Doherty and now the Saints have a big penalty to kill.

Saints again get sloppy at the end of the period. They have to be careful not to fall behind by two.

Goal Dartmouth A great pass through the slot from Eric Neiley to Matt Lindblad for the score.

Been a pretty good game so far. The third period will be fun. Darmouth's size vs. SLU's speed. Saints hit the pipe on a shot just now.

Saints get a few more looks at a goal, but it remains knotted.

GOAL SLU Kyle Essery on the power play.

SLU continues to dominate the zone and get chances, and now they go on the PP.

First period impressions

St. Lawrence looked strong for about 15 of the 20 minutes. The penalty right off the bat didn't help its cause and the Saints appeared a little lazy defensively toward the end.

There were at least four chances with a loose puck in the crease just begging for a Saint to put it in, but alas no goal occurred.

I think the Saints are playing pretty well and handling Dartmouth's massive size extraordinarily. If SLU continues to get chances like it had in the first period, it will score at least a couple goals tonight.

First period notes:

With 90 seconds left in the period the ice is looking terrible and St. Lawrence's defense is making some bad mistakes.

Weninger saves a sure goal on a bad turnover in the neutral zone.

Saints are still getting the majority of the chances. I'm confident a goal isn't far away.

A couple real good chances for the Saints on the PP but no goal.

Saints go on the PP.

This is a pretty high-speed game. We're going to find out who the best-conditioned team is by the end of this one.

It's a pretty weak showing in the student section. Perhaps already gone for break?

The Saints are getting a lot of zone time. Again a penalty kills them in the first period. Dartmouth was previously 1-for-20 on the man advantage.

A bouncing puck in the crease can't be put home for the Saints to even it. Good effort though.

Goal Dartmouth Nick Walsh on the power play.

14 seconds into the game and Martin goes to the box for boarding.

Here we go.
