Clarkson extended its home win streak to four games with a 5-0 victory over American International on Saturday before 3,207 fans in a nonconference game at Cheel Arena.

After a scoreless first period Clarkson produced four goals on 16 shots in the second period, scoring two power-play goals and one shorthanded goal.

Allan McPherson scored the first goal for Clarkson just 66 seconds into the period off a nice pass from behind the net by Jarrett Burton.

Freshman defenseman Sam Labrecque then scored his first career goal on a power-play at 7 minutes, 59 seconds of the period:

Ben Sexton scored another power-play goal at 14:37 to make it 3-0 and then Burton scored on a shorthanded breakaway at 17:29 for the final goal of the period.

The final goal came just 1:40 into the third period from senior Nick Tremblay.

Paul Karpowich made 31 saves for his second shutout of the season.
