New York state has taken a pounding in the past month from Hurricane Irene and then Tropical Storm Lee.

Jefferson, Lewis and St. Lawrenece counties were spared from storms' damage, but state Sen. Patty Ritchie is encouraging you to do your part to help your neighbors.

She's set up donation drop-off sites at her offices in Oswego, Ogdensburg and Watertown. You can go during business hours through next week to drop off items. According to Mrs. Ritchie's office, the most urgent needs are: Diapers, non-perishable food, formula, jar baby food, baby wipes, adult wipes, personal hygiene items, cleaning supplies, new underwear, new socks, over-the-counter medications and bottled water.

Contributions may be dropped off at Senator Ritchie’s offices:

Dulles State Office Building, 317 Washington St., Watertown

Oswego County Building, 46 E. Bridge St., Oswego

Ogdensburg City Hall, 330 Ford St., Ogdensburg
