SYRACUSE — The Syracuse football team’s season home opener against Wake Forest has been moved to Thursday, Sept. 1, at the Carrier Dome, the college announced Wednesday.
Originally slated to play Saturday, Sept. 3, the Orange will play a home game on Thursday for the first time in school history. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. and broadcast by ESPN3.
The Orange’s home schedule also features games against Rhode Island on Sept. 10, Toledo on Sept. 24, Rutgers on Oct. 1, West Virginia on Oct. 21, South Florida on Nov. 11, and Cincinnati on Nov. 26. The South Florida game is a Friday night ESPN2 game.
Syracuse plays road games at Southern California on Sept. 17, at Tulane on Oct. 8, at Louisville on Oct. 29, at Connecticut on Nov. 5 and at Pittsburgh on Dec. 3. The Pittsburgh game is slated for ESPN broadcast.
Times have been determined for only Wake Forest, West Virginia and South Florida, all 8 p.m. starts.
