Ron Rolston was in town Sunday to visit and speak with school officials about the men's hockey head coach position but has flown back to Michigan, where he coaches the U.S. Under-18 team.
Former Golden Knight assistant Casey Jones, the associate head coach at Cornell, is expected to be on campus Tuesday to interview for the job.
Jones worked at Clarkson from 1993-95 when Mark Morris was head coach and George Roll was the other assistant.
A 1990 graduate of Cornell, Jones has worked on head coach Mike Schafer's staff for the past three seasons after spending 13 seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio State University.
Jones has further roots to Cornell, as his wife, Kimberlee, is also a Big Red graduate.
U.S. Hockey League Draft
Clarkson recruit Kevin Tansey, a defenseman, was selected in the 19th round of the U.S.H.L. draft by the Youngstown (Ohio) Phantoms. Tansey is expected, however, to join the Golden Knights for the 2011-12 season.
Also selected was Massena native Kevin Morris, the son of former Clarkson coach Mark Morris. A forward, Morris was selected in the fourth round by the Dubuque (Iowa) Fighting Saints. He's expected to play one more year of junior hockey before making starting his collegiate career.
