The Bulldogs advance to the state championship game with an 8-point win over Whitesville. Courtney Boyea finished with 21 points.
Tomorrow's game starts at noon and will be televised live by Time Warner Cable. It will be on the 813 HD channel, channel 7 in Watertown and channel 9 in the north country and Franklin County.
Third Quarter
Whitesville's Stephany Ellison scored 10 points to help the Blue Jays outscore Chateaugay 15-9 and cut the lead to two points.
Second Quarter
Chateaugay closed out the first half on a 10-1 run and leads 22-14 at the break. Courtney Boyea leads the Bulldogs with 11 points.
First Quarter
Chateaugay got off to a sluggish start and fell behind 4-2 early. But the Bulldogs responded an 8-0 run to take a 10-4 lead. Courtney Boyea scored six of the eight points.
Whitesville answered with five straight points to cut the lead to 10-9 at the end of one.
Pregame
Chateaugay is 17-6, but the Bulldogs have lost only one game this season against a Class D team. Chateaugay's offense is led by Courtney Boyea, who averages 12.9 points. Raquel Fowler is averaging 10.8 and Makayla Fleury 8.3.
Section 5's Whitesville (20-3) reached the semifinals with a 46-40 win over Section 6's Sherman. The Blue Jays leading players are Stephany Ellison and Briana Meehan, who was the Section 5 Class D Tournament Most Valuable Player. Defensive stoppers for Whitesville are Marilynn Schoen and Jolleen Saunders.
Section 9's Coleman Catholic won the first semifinal 47-31 over Section 4's South Kortright.
