Massena native Andy Draper will work as an umpire in the South Atlantic League this season.

Draper, who was a first baseman on Massena's state championship baseball team in 2001, was a rookie umpire last year in the New York-Penn League, where he was selected to work the All-Star game and postseason.

The South Atlantic League is a full-season Class A league and its season begins on April 7.
