Massena native Brandon Albert will achieve one of his goals Wednesday when he sends a signed letter of intent to play NCAA Division I men's soccer for Syracuse University next fall.
Albert, who is 6-foot-2, has dedicated his life to soccer. The 18-year-old never played for the varsity team at Massena High School and instead spent his high school years playing on club teams.
After spending four years with the Ottawa (Ontario) Fury, Albert has played for the Albany Blackwatch the past two years. He attended Massena High School through his sophomore year but will graduate this spring from Saratoga Springs High School.
“I'm actually very excited,” Albert said. “I feel that it's the next step forward. If I keep working I can reach my first overall dream.”
